PUTRAJAYA: Three new Covid-19 cases were detected today from three coronavirus clusters identified in Sarawak.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said one new positive case was recorded from the religious church gathering cluster in Kuching, taking the total number of infection cases from it to 176.
He said of the total, 86 patients had made full recovery, 85 were being treated at normal wards, two at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and three fatalities were reported, namely Case 358, Case 2,471 and Case 2,864.
"Meanwhile, there were no new cases reported from the Persons Under Investigations' (PUI) Italy cluster, with the number of cases remaining at 63. Of the total, 26 had been discharged, 31 getting treatment at normal wards and one critical case receiving treatment at the ICU.
"There were five deaths linked to Covid-19 under this cluster, namely Case 1,031, Case 1,032, Case 1,006, Case 2,850 and Case 2,210," Dr Noor Hisham told a press conference today.
Meanwhile, he said there were two new cases reported from the Sarawak General Hospital cluster involving its healthcare staff, taking the total number of infections to 56.
"Of the total, 35 patients had been discharged and 21 are being treated at the hospital," he said.
