Even the new Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Hj. Yasin was visibly taken aback by the unfolding events of many uncertainties during the 7 days of chaotic spectacles which ended in him reluctantly having to accept the decision of the Palace and his supporters to be the new Prime Minister. The Palace had exercised much more than the legal requirements of the Malaysian Constitution of Section 43 and Section 55. His Majesty, Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah went out of his way to interview individually each and every Malaysian MPs and followed by discussions with each and every political parties heads before His Majesty arrived at a decision to appoint Tan Sri Muhyiddin.

Tan Sri Muhiyuddin is very experienced and inclusive leader and who had successfully headed 6 ministries before he was sacked as Deputy Prime in the Dato Seri Najib's cabinet. Tan Sri Muhyiddin's magnanimity came from his desire to be part of a clean government previously when he declared his rejection to the 1MDB matter which badly tarnished UMNO's name and some UMNO members who are clean and fulfilled their responsibilities of serving the people. Now he welcomes UMNO members who are prepared to work with him forming a government based on Integrity, experience, and clean track record and competency.
A week later while in the process of forming his ministerial cabinet he again emphasized his priority condition of appointing members of his cabinet who are made up of Technocrats, politicians with clean track records and experienced in governing of a nation.
The magnanimity of certain political leaders shows itself also in the statements made by President of UMNO President, Dato Seri Said Hamidi and PAS President, Dato Seri Haji Hadi Awang. Both declared openly they do not seek for highest cabinet portfolios in the new cabinet.
UMNO and PAS are two dominant parties of the new coalition which previously and traditionally practiced to reserve and offer the top cabinet positions to presidents of dominant political parties in the coalition. Today's political practice of magnanimity reflects the departure from the traditional practices of Malaysian political history of yesterday years.
